Viterbi Data Association Tracking using Amplitude Information

The problem of tracking under adverse conditions, such as when the target SNR is low, is known to be a difficult one. One approach to handling this problem is to use a sophisticated tracking method based on the multi-hypothesis tracking (MHT) algorithm. An alternative is to incorporate additional information such as the strength of the measured return. Another option is to combine the two approaches. This paper investigates the performance of a tracker from the MHT family when tracking targets at low SNR, both with and without the use of signal amplitude information.
